The Designer
Elian Yakoub is a Syrian-Swedish fashion designer who started his journey before he could reach his late father's sewing machine. At the tender age of 8 years old, Elian stood on tiptoes as his father passionately shared the difference in stitches and fabrics with his bright, wide-eyed son...
Yakoub was bursting at the seams with passion as he dreamed for years to come that one day, he will be a world-class fashion designer.
By the time he was 16, Elian had already mastered pattern making and sewing after countless private lessons. He then ventured to the Middle East's fashion hub-- to Beirut, Lebanon, to specialize in Fashion Design. Throughout his studies, Yakoub never failed to seize every opportunity for internships and short-term contracts with some of the leading international Lebanese fashion houses, many of which were interested in offering him full-time opportunities.
In 2017, Elian was offered a life-changing collaboration with a vintage boutique in Stockholm. That is where he fell in love with designing bridal lines. At this boutique, he contributed to bridging a gap in the bridal market with an unprecedented wedding concept. The original collection released that year was not only designed by Elian Yakoub, but every item was also drafted and hand-sewn by him. Only one year later, Elian was recruited to the Stockholm Opera House where he worked as a tailor for 3 different shows.
After decades of cultivating taste, passion, and intensive experience, Yakoub comes back with his own brand, Elian Studios, a unique flavor to his bridal designs, and brings to life a vision he has been redrafting for decades... A timeless wedding gown that speaks volumes on connection, love, and sustainability-- a dress you pass on.
